Here is a powerful testimony from a 4th Day Pilgrim. Definitely worth the read.

I really thought I knew everything there was to know about being religious.  I had a friend in college ask me to “pray the prayer” ….check….…I met other sweet friends as my children were very young who encouraged me to “go to church”…….check……and I did, then didn’t.  I didn’t feel I needed church because I had figured it out and could love God on my own.

I made so many mistakes along the way and often times had my priorities painfully misaligned.

Then, God led me to The Walk to Emmaus.  I went there still thinking I knew all I needed to know, but just wanted that extra feather….check.

God, in His beautiful timing, made it crystal clear that He had some work to do on this wandering girl.  He needed me to see Him clearly, without distractions or opportunity to showcase my “mad knowledge”.   (Thank you Jan!)

I met Jesus Christ on the walk to Emmaus.  I met Him, face to face.  I finally confessed my heart to my Savior and I was transformed.  I will never be the same.  Never, never, never…I will never be the same, in Jesus’ name.

There is something so incredibly powerful about the Walk to Emmaus program.   The commitment to continuous prayer, the willingness for the servants on the team to love without judgment (and even if they don’t love that way, Holy Spirit completely intervenes EVERY time!!)   I have teamed many, many times and EVERY time…it’s the LORD who changes people.  Not the team, not the place…but GOD.  And every time I weep…to see the power and sovereignty of God at work, it humbles me anew.

God’s love transformed me on my walk.  Serving God in my church as I work for the Kingdom is my priority now.

I’m still being grown…God still works on me daily.  But without the weekend, I would’ve never been in a place to see Jesus the way I did.  I would’ve never shouted at the top of my lungs, “I have decided to follow Jesus.”

We have hours to reach out to those God has placed on our hearts and invite them to spend this time with Holy Spirit, to invigorate the church.

Jesus asked us,  “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” Matthew 9:38

I’m praying with Jesus for the laborers ….sometimes the most fervent of those just spend 72 hours with the Lord on the Walk to Emmaus.

And never turn back!
